Veronica Santi aka LaSantissima is a writer, filmaker and art curator. Her research focuses mainly on contemporary art and public art projects. Her video practice links art and cinema in a deep investigation of the artistic process of the featured authors. She is committed to present cutting edge topics, facing political and gender issues and engaging broad audiences that transcend geographic, racial, and socioeconomic barriers.
She regularly writes about art criticism for newspapers, catalogs and magazines, including Artforum, Domus, ArteFuse New York, Exibart, Artribune, Tunica Magazine. Among her books: "Arte In Construction" (2015, UAO editions) and "Francesca Alinovi. Scritti" (with M. Bergamini, 2019, postmediabooks).
She is the author and film director of RAID PROJECT, where she is experimenting new narrative techniques of documentary and Live-Cinema as a form of militant art critic.
She produces videos and short documentaries for galleries, museums, no-profit organization and artists. Among her films documentaries: "I am not alone anyway" (2017), "DON N A M A F I A" (2018), "Off-Identikit" (2020).
From 2012 to 2016 she worked in New York for the non-profit organization ArtBridge.
In 2013 she created OFF SITE ART, a public art project in L'Aquila and in 2014 she founded the non-profit organization with the same name. She has been President and Artistic Director for Off Site Art until 2020.
As an independent curator, she has organized many exhibitions in galleries, institutions and independent or non-profit spaces.
She teaches "Contemporary art. Power to the creation" at LABORATORIO41, Via Castiglione 41 Bologna.
